Commentary — This scene is in the restored kitchen in Ft. Frederick, which is a colonial-era fort used in the French and Indian War. It was shot with available light. Access to the kitchen was restricted by guard rails, hence my use of lens shift to frame the subject. I rarely use shift in landscape photos, but from this experience I can see why it is more commonly used in architectural photography. I guess this scene can count as my still-life photo for this collection.
