Description — This is the shoreline of Southwest Harbor of Deer Isle, Maine. The photograph was taken near sunset on August 17, 2008.
Camera Nerd Info — Linhof Super Technika V 4×5 view camera, Nikkor-W 135mm f/5.6 lens, Fuji Provia 100F film, exposure 1/2s @ f/11.
Commentary — This scene is on the western shore of Deer Isle. The only technical challenge was to take a 1/2 second exposure without getting blurring from the boats rocking in the waves. I got lucky.
The location is near the summer home of a friend. When I asked her how long the property had been in her family, she replied that it was a land grant to one of her ancestors from Britain’s King George I. Now that’s old money.
