Commentary — Although the JPEG for this website isn’t that impressive, a large print of this image shows amazing detail. A 4000 dpi drum scan of a 4×5 sheet of film gives a file that is 16,000 x 20,000 pixels, or about 1.8 gigabytes (yes, gigabytes) of information, including the film border. This image was shot as a vertical then severely cropped. Even so, it will make a print of more than 32×40 inches at 300 dpi.
Color is a challenge when everything is artificial light. This scene might look better in black and white.
